Sedona, Arizona, January 20, 2007 - With Europe experiencing the warmest winter in 1,250 years, Woody Vaspra (Hawaiian), President of the World Council of Elders of over 50 countries, was asked to lead a‘Prayer for the Healing & Care of our Mother Earth.’ This happened as a result of Vaspra graciously offering the Council'sIndigenous Elders tohold ceremonies worldwide to heal and rebalance the man-made part of the global warming, to help ensure the healthy future of skiing, boarding and the Winter Olympics. A group of leaders, many centered in Sedona, with networks representing possibly a billion internationals gathered to lendsupport, excited about sending out Vaspra’s following prayer,” according to Olympic skier, Suzy Chaffee, Native American Olympic Team Foundation co-chairman:

THE PRAYER

We give thanks to you, our Creator, (or God, Yahweh, Allah, Ke Akua, Wakan Tanka…) for all the wonderful gifts you have bestowed upon us. We are grateful to you for helping us endure as long as we have on our beloved Mother Earth.

At this time of critical change, Creator, we ask you for strength and courage. We ask you to help each one of us gain the understanding and wisdom we need to heal, to love one another, and to finally realize peace. We ask you to help each one of us become more aware of our responsibilities in caring for all life on this beautiful planet.

Creator , we know deep inside that we are a part of you and all creation. We want to take back our roles as caretakers of our planet. We want to open our hearts to honoring, respecting and caring for our natural environment.

The global warming that is occurring all over the Earth is a blessed wake-up call. It is time to make a more loving, compassionate, thriving, vibrant world. Together, we can restore the integrity and healing powers of our water, air, and land to build a sustainable future for our children. Together, we can do this as One family working in unison to fulfill our purpose on this Earth. --Woody Vaspra

The team of visionaries includes: Jan Roberts of UN’s Earth Charter representing 2,500 organizations, Mary Ho, President of the China Millennium as well as the First Nations of the Canada (next Olympic hosts), Sperry Andrews of the Oneness Network (scientists, physicists, avatars), Franciscan MonkMaximillian Mitzi of Assisi - organized World Churches speaking out for Earth, Kerrie Wilson, founder of Phoenixvoyage (Cirque de Soleil-like Sustainability ed events across America), Jeanne Freeland of Womens’ Day International, Scott Halazon for the Aquarians, Earthdance (200 events in 50 countries), Mike Waters, clean renewable energy leader…

“These ceremonies and prayers, along with sustainable practices, are our best hope for humanity,” said Earth Charter’s Roberts. “Indigenous Elders have been the best Caretakers of Mother Earth and know how to talk to Her, as all our ancestors once knew.”

Jerry and Kathie Weiner of Sioux City and Tampa, who brought the (60 mph/gal) Smart Car to America, and made possible the launch of the Native American Olympic Bid at Torino last February, first suggested the prayer as a support. Chaffee passed on the brilliant suggestion to Vaspra who jumped on it. The former Viet Nam pilot, pro football and baseball player, turned skier, biologist and aeronautical engineer and Chief advisor to NVF the Native American Olympic Steering Committee, served on the government-sponsored International Committee Studying the Affects on Global Warming.

Vaspra quote:

"Woody andI were looking for asolution afterhearing from the IOC thatmost theWorld Cup races in Europe were canceled, corroborated by FrenchPrincess Caroline Murat (NVF Advisor who initiated Indian Bid), calling it"catastrophic." ThenBob Gough, secretary of Naive Wind.org, a Native American Olympic Sponsor, sentNVF the story on Europe. NVF had just coincidentally finished Gough’s request for documentation of the DozenSnow, Rain & Temperature Miracles by the American Indian Elders for Climate leaders of the tribes and Stanford. The miracles were inspired by NVF’s Native Ski Programs at 60 resorts, starting in 1963 with Vail’s Ute snowdance covered on CBS Huntley-Brinkley Report.

“Over the holiday our Earth Family magically showed up wanting to help smooth this exciting transitional time for our planet, humanity and consciousness. Through joyfully praying, singing, dancing and acting on our love and appreciation for each other and Earth’s gifts, including Her life-giving snow and rains, we are on the path of healing our only home,” said Chaffee.
