9/11 Trend of Healing Hearts & Oneness

This Native coverage can demonstrate to the world how America has transformed since 9/11, which coincidentally is the code for “Help!” Never before have Americans and the world connected hearts in a deeper, more satisfying way - many finding that serving someone in need feels even better than serving ourselves, or being served. In hurting others we are hurting part of us. In healing the hearts of others, we are healing our hearts that were never healed from the atrocities of the Roman Empire and Inquisition, taking 9 million women and some men who had a spiritual connection with nature out of the gene pool. And in healing ourselves we are healing the world.

That feeling of oneness with everyone and Nature is what our ancient ancestors felt throughout most of history. In cultivating plants and domesticating livestock we felt superior and therefore separate and lonely and needed to hoard for security. Yet a tree knows that it is surrounded by a living, loving universe and doesn’t hoard a reservoir of water to feel secure. “Not feeling at one with each other and Nature is an altered state of consciousness,” said theologian Father Thomas Berry (“My Dream of the Earth”). People travel thousands of miles to connect with Indigenous cultures, when an uplifting experience with some of “America’s spiritual billionaires” may often be found in our own backyard.

“Honoring Native Americans this Olympic year (like our children sent a dollar to Afgani children) will also send a sincere message to tribal people in the Middle East that America is not going to bomb them and leave them again,” said Norwegian-born Forester Bjorn Dahl, agreeing with NVF leaders. Together we are evolving into a higher, more gratifying way of thinking and being in the 21st Century. If we continue to make compassion in fashion, we could uplift Salt Lake and the world, like the Aborigine breakthrough did for Sidney. In so doing we will enhance our economy through tourism and enhance a safer Utah Games for everyone.
